Default Need real schooling on front suspension.

I've been researching suspension upgrades for my 2011 Road King and am likely to go with Ohlins (2/3s) for the rear.

Despite lots of reading here and elsewhere I am not sure what the best mod is for the front. I'll want to lower it (and the rear) half to one inch; but my main objective is ride quality. 2 up now and again but mostly solo.

The Moco is selling this dual cartridge kit for 4 bills or standard lowering kit. Then I am reading about Monotubes...?

Really appreciate any advise on the front. I can save for $500 or so (that's what the 2nd job is for). So I can't get freaky with this custom front thing that Howard is working on--too much dough.

What are my choices? Appreicate it....Benny

I went with Race Tech front springs and their gold valve emulators. Very happy with the results.

you want ride quality, then forget lowering. There is only about 4 inches of travel in the front end at normal ride height. I went with Racetech front springs and Ricor intiminators.

I'm not a big fan of lowering either, haven't done it to my current bike so I don't even know how to skin that cat. I posted a modification to Intiminators that provides a superb front suspension for about $300 all new parts. So far only two members have reported but both very happy with the results.

I ran lowered monotubes in my last bike and standard in this bike (which lower it a 1/2" anyway) loved both , they were a big improvement for under $300 from Phat Performance

I run monotubes on my 07 best 300 I've spent on the bike. No more fearing that pot hole that i didn't see, and brake dive is gone. And from experience lowering a bike is a BAD idea.
