I was told thar using octane booster in your HD was not a good idea. HD says that it will strip the linning in your tank. This came from a pretty good source.

RE: pinging
If your already buying Premium gas make sure that the station's pumps do not use only one hose to pump out all three grades of gas. If you get gas form a one hose pump that just pumped regular gas the first 1/2 gallon of gas you buy will be the left over regular grade left in the hose, nozzel and pump. If you gas up with say three gallons there will be a considerable dilution of the octane. Either find stations with three hoses or make sure that the last grade pumped thru the hose was 93 octane.

Maybe try a different station of your brand and see if it still pings. I used a local station for years with no problems with my cars or bike, all of a sudden one day I filled up both cars and they BOTH started to ping. I brought it to the owners attention and she checked into it but I would never buy gas there again, probably pumping mid or regular grade out of the hi test pump.
