Default Passenger Backrest vs Tour-Pac Rest

I want to know what other passengers have said about different backrest. I have the tall/large passenger backrest and the wrap around Tour-Pac backrest. I was surprised that my OL actually likes the standard backrest better, she says the Tour-Pac shakes more and makes her back itch. After reading so many post about how everyone's OL like the TP so much better I was like WTF. I didn't get the TP for her I got it for my trips but I would like her to be happy, especially if I want her to come on trips with me. Is it just my TP, my OL or is this just common? The TP is an older one around 2002 and mounted on HD quick disconnect points.

I've got both, the medium height backrest and the tourpak as well. My OL prefers the tourpak. And I agree, I think that's the most common opinion. Mine likes it because of the wrap-around armrest, she says it makes her feel more secure. But whatever works, if you keep "mama" happy, you'll be happy!!

The wife does not really have a preference. I throw the backrest on for a trip to dinner or maybe a day ride with her. Long trips the tourpac goes on and she has said in the past that occasionally when we stop that her back itches but there is no specfic pattern it is just random.

I have a chopped tourpac backrest on the king tourpac because she hated the way the wrap-around backrest feels.

Yup want to keep her happy and it's easier to put the backrest on than the TP, I'm just hoping that when she comes along on a trip that shes still happy. She has very little riding experince and the first road trip should be interesting.

TP with mustang set-up. Wraps around her side further than the stock. No vibrations but than again I have the hard mounts not detachable.

My wife prefers the tourpak backrest over the regular. In fact she doesn't like to ride unless I put the TP on the bike. She said she feel safer with it on.
