Default Riding a Sportster

i have never ridden a Sportster but am looking for a low cost bike to leave in Florida to use when I'm there. At home I have a FLHTP. My question is if a Sportster will be comfortable to ride. i'm 6'3", 230. Also, we ride 2 up a lot. Rides there won't be longer than day trips. i'd appreciate comments, and perhaps suggestions on appropriate Sportster models that might work. Thanks.

A friend of mine has a sporty he rides all the time 2 up. Need a nice seat and back rest. I like the new 72, it comes with high rise handle bars which makes it more comfy. I just sat on one at the Dealer and if I was going to buy one, it would be that one. Check it out.

Your awful tall for a sportster. I'm 6'1 and look too big on my wife's, xl1200c custom. Forward controls too

I recently bought a Sportster for my son 1200 custom with forward controls, I would definately recomend the forwards at your hieght. Me & him both are around 6-1 and with out the forwards it would be a pain.

Good point about the forward controls. Had them on my old Super Glide. Wasn't comfortable without them. Thing is I can find Sportys for $3-4k. Can't get a TC for those low $$. And I only will get to use it a few times per year so don't want to spend much.

Nah.... for a few bucks more you could be on a Dyna or Softail. I've even been watching a lot of V Rods going for under 8K on Ebay.

Why not pick up a used bike? You can get a nice 5-8year old Electra glide or road king for around 8500
