Default Street Glide Sundowner Seat issue

06 Street Glide

I just installed a Sundowner seat on my Street Glide and the front of the seat does not go up on the tank as far as the stock seat did. I now have a gap between the tank and the seat.

Has anyone else had this issue or is my seat possible defective?

If your seat P/N is 51726-05 then you'll need the H-D P/N 52447-96 TRIM PIECE,

(http://search.harley-davidson.com/?q=52447-96)<-- see this link for info.

It fills in that gap.

Exclamation Dude!

Your parts guy should've known you needed this part.
Again, it's crazy that you gotta spend another $30.00 to complete a simple project like switching from one HD seat to another HD seat.
This part should come with the new seat if it's needed.
Would you have paid the additional thirty dollars for the seat if it came with everything you needed? I think I would have.
Raise the price to sell it complete AND sell it alone for those owners who like the look but don't necessarily need it to hide an opening.
Again, this is crazy.

My Corban fit like like a glove and feels better on the fart box.
