I find that hard to believe, I couldn't buy the cam itself for less than $600.
Well, a Wood cam is $380 from Wood. An Andrews cam is about $100 less. Sorry, you got hosed if they charged you $600 for an Andrews cam. Yeah, i think you've been sexually assaulted at$2200. Should have at least have put in a new cam plate for that price (or much less)!

Thumbs up

Go with the Andrews and save the $$$ and PIA you are going to get with high-lift / compression issues. Andrews 26H. Look at DHP for all of the parts (cams, inner bearings, ezinstall pushrods, gaskets,..) as they have the lowest posted prices.

From what you describe, I'd do the TW-555 and a 0.030 head gasket. You'll love the power band that combo makes.

If it's a 96" SE255 or Andrews 21H.
If going to 103" Andrews 26H.

I took it to a one owner one employee performance shop for a "Andrew 26G cam install". New lifters, solid pushrods, USED but like new cam plate because he said the original was defective not allowing the oil button to work properly, (what ever that means), 2 sparkplugs, Labor, one quart of Amsoil, dyno tuned......
$2200.....Did I just get the pole up the hole????
Or does this sound about right?
Yep, gouged. Brutally...

As you can see, opinions are like ********...Everybody has one....Whatever you decide to go with (it will be confusing) you will be happy...The thing is, you get a lot of opinions from guys like me who just wanted a bit more oooomph from the bike that have just experienced 1 brand upgrade, not many can afford to change from brand to brand to brand just to try for Chits n grins....So you as you can see, the choices are a plenty....they all have their pluses and minuses but for most part they all will give you a performance upgrade.....
If you want to play it safe go with the SE255...It's a PROVEN improvement over stock and many, many members have them and love them...
My dealer quoted me about $700 for complete install...
