I have done a search and can't find what Im looking for so hopefully someone has some info here. I have the HD chrome fork lower kit ready to go, but was going to install Progressive Monotubes while I am at it. I have the manual and have been cking all the steps in there and all the suggestions from others on here. I have an '11 RGC. I have already put longer shocks on the back, but am wanting to put a 21" front wheel on in the future. If I am installing new springs should I go with the stock height or the lowered kit? As well, what is the consensus on oil weight? I am thinking by doing the monotubes with the chrome lower kit I can assemble first, and then basically remove old forks and install new ones? Am I correct or are there any other parts from the original forks that I need to save to do the install? Thanks for the info and sorry if this has been repeated elsewhere, just couldn't find it.

 

I think that you should call Progressive and ask them about which shock to go with.
I went with the SE fork oil medium I believe.
Good idea though to do the monotubes now while it is apart.
Good idea to dump them dumb springs too.
