Default Is the "SIX SPEED" on the Transmission Cover an insert?

On the Transmission Cover where it says "SIX SPEED", is that an insert or is just stamped out? The reason for asking is, I have a denim black FLTRX and I want the part in the middle that says SIX SPEED denim black too. Can't find anything on it anywhere. Does Harley make a denim black insert if it is? I know they make the wrinkled black cover. Help me out fellas.

It's not an insert. It's actually engraved into there, then filled with enamel.

It depends on the year of the bike.

On my 2012 FLHRC its an insert. On my neighbor's 2010 its stamped. Not sure about 2011.

In fact I yanked that hideous thing off, and now I have a nice glass insert from http://www.ironglassdesign.com, w0oT!

My buddy has an '11 Roady and his was an insert. Heated it up with a hair dryer & pryed it out with a plastic spatula.

Actually, they kinda do, any of those backrest medallions would probably work in that spot.

I think this one and this one would.

Default 2011-1013 Harley 103 Six Speed Trans Insert

In 2012, The Harley 103 came out. They added matching finned derby, rotor, and trans cover. The insert for the tranny is part #60824-11. It's about $10.00! The covers where used through 2013. They were replaced with solid chrome in 2014 !
