Is the "SIX SPEED" on the Transmission Cover an insert?

i just peeled the insert off of my 12 streetglide and now it's all chrome, just like the 14 models.

I have always hated that insert on my 12'. Any advise on best way to remove it?

hair dryer and be carefull getting under the edge to get it started, i used a screw driver but you must always pull out on it. anyway once you get it started you can get a pair of pliers on it and slowly pull it off while putting some heat to it. the hard part is getting all the glue off.
