sorry about the double post - not sure how that happened

Anywho - thanks to all for the advice. I am convinced that I don't need to pay the stealership $250 plus to do this. Pay attention - read the directions - be patient and end up with $250 plus to spend on another upgrade! Kewl

Exactly!! Fun doing your own stuff. You learn about the bike and to me it feels better knowing I did it and its done right.

Not hard just time consuming for somthing that looks so simple (3 hrs for complete stage 1).... I needed help/physical support when reattaching the stock cross tube into the FM header. Still not happy with the fit (a little tight) but no leaks after 200 miles. I did make a mistake of using a muffler clamp on the cross tube conection and the cross tube clamp on the muffler. No leaks so far but I think Im going to redo the conections to the cross tube. I reused the exhaust gaskets as the bike only had 1k miles.

If I can do it, anyone can. Make sure you loosen the right floorboard. Had I the chance to do it all over again I would have been more patient.

and also, i did it while on jiffy stand in my garage...talk about ergonomics, etc., but it was all worth the while than having to pay dealer for 2 hours of labor...
