Default Crashed the Street Glide. Need advice on mods

i have a thread on the wreck in general chat. Here is what i need and maybe you guys can guide me in right direction on where to purchase and who to go with

not sure what the damage estimate is, but desribing to my dad and what others have said on here Im guessing around $4k minimum. hopefully.

So I need

New stretched bags and fender(or repair what I have)- Bad Dad? Love their stuff. Anyone know of other great stretched bags and fender?

Floorboards, shifter, shift side foot peg, shift rod. Need everything.

Apes and cables. Hopefully i can throw some apes on it with the money. Looking to go 16s in black

21'' DNA or Ride Wright wheel? Looking at spoke wheels. FL style fender or wrapped?

Will need a new primary cover as well. thats stock though of course.

If i can do all this I will be happy. If I can maybe a new color. its black now and I love black but maybe a custom candy style red? i like orange as well.

Ohh and looking to get crash bars too. HAHA.

Thanks guys. Just need advice on where to get everything and who to go with. i have been doing research just looking for input.

well there is Harley stuff
what does you insurance say about OEM replacement.

Other than that, the parts guy, dealer or indy should have after market books to look thru
there is a ton of stuff that I can't name. Custom Chrome is one

Im not sure. But I should know a little more today after it gets picked up. Im going to head down there after its picked up and see what they say etc. I know HD parts arent cheap so looking to replace with aftermarket. they cut the check to me and shop so I can do whatever with.

really hope this turns out for the better.

give frank a call at directharleyparts out of cali. He is a good dude. I bought my monkey bars and all the wiring and cables from him. Ive used drvtwin for stuff too----drew or shawn are good people and drvtwin is a forum sponser. I bought a klockwerks wrapper and it is a bad *** fender in my opinion and I didnt have to modify it. I ordered wheels from coastal moto---very fair on the price. But I would call frank first and foremost---951-257-4033 you can also use his website www.directharleyparts.com. He can get whatever you want. Good luck. Im not trying to sell there stuff........just letting you know where the deals are!

If you only have $4K to play with... I cant see your entire list getting done. Especially painting the entire bike... any GOOD painter will charge $2-$3000 to paint a bagger, and then throw in a candy color paint and there is another $500. I think you could pickup bags & fender reasonable, unless you can repair your's cheaper. If so... save the $ for something else. Floorboard, shifter, etc.. look in the used Touring parts section of this forum or eBay, they are dirt cheap usually. Apes and cables are going to depend on what you want. Even if you go with the cheap $150 14" apes, with cables and wires you are looking at $300 plus labor. You could also talk to your shop and see if they will let you do any of the labor yourself... like the bar swap, front fender swap, etc... all of the easy stuff. My local HD dealer let me do some of the work on a bike I layed down several years ago. Good luck and most importantly... Glad you are Okay and ready to get back on that bike! Cheers!

with $4-$5k i could easily do my list except the paint. I could go with the stock vivid black color. But $4-$5k would def. do stretched bags, fender, new floorboards, shifter, peg, rim and fender, apes and repair fairing.

Its off to HD tomorrow for estimate on Friday. Service guy was pretty good and I was pleased with him. I dont know the part number or brand of my stretched bags and fender(shop from Cali) but he said if we cant get it then I can just order you the stretched bags HD offers(not the gay cvo ones) the tru 4'' with lids and hardware. So hopefully he can do that and I guess get a stretched fender to replace mine somehow. Well see how it all goes. Im nervous about it all but im sure everything will be ok.
