I don't have much to compare it to, but I bought my first bike this past spring and went with the Road King Classic. The only other bike I'd ever ridden was an Electra Glide. I love my Road King. I think you'll be very happy with it.
Yes, probably enough to accommodate any Harley Handle Bar. I installed 10" bars with all existing cables, wires and lines. Others have complained that there is not enough length in the brake line, but we call bullshiot on that....
I got my bars installed, it was a pain in the **** but its done. Lots of extra slack and full movement as well. Love the way it rides.
Isint the brake peddal splined on its shaft? I think you can slip it off and rotate it close to the board like you would a shifter.....I may be mistaken though
Nope. It fits onto a shaft and a tab aligns to the master cylinder with a clevis pin.
Congrats on the new bike. It looks nice. I bought a new 2011 Road King last year and love it. My only complaint was pain in the middle of my shoulder blades from the stock handlebars. I had 16" apes installed this winter. I cannot wait to pick my bike up from the dealer once winter is over to try them out. I know I don't have to worry about the pain/burning in my shoulders now.
Congrats on the new King! I too was having back sprain from longer rides. I moved to 12" mini apes and they made a huge improvement over stock. If I recall I was able keep my original brake cable length but I needed to extend the clutch cable. Have fun with the new ride!
Correct me if I am wrong, but I googled stock pic's of a 2000 FLHR and it shows a chrome crossover pipe and my bike does not have that like my buddies does... I think I have true duals?!?
