I guess if your roller bearings are sliding you should go ahead and buy a whole new motor and transmission (assuming you used the same oil in all three holes) since 99% of the rotating shafts in these bikes are supported by roller bearings. I did not do the math on the percentage so don't beat me up on it but if you look in the service manual for a few minutes you will only find a few bushings.
I am sorry for your luck on the choice of mechanics. I would like to be a fly on the wall when he explains his idea to you when you tell him you won't be back. Please share it here as I need another good laugh.

iclick roller lifters were in Panheads so they have been around since at least 1948. Not sure before that. At one time there wasn't a push rod for the intake.

but I think it no longer becomes funny when the mechanic that built your bike, whom you believed to be a competent mechanic and builder of the motor tells you synthetic oil cause these problems. Then at that point you start to scratch your bike and wounder, is he right? Did I pull a boner mover and have the wrong guy work on the bike? Cause once these th happen you will have to have the motor repaired. I will be choosing another mechanic. Thanks for all the reaponses.
As long as he used proper, complimentary parts, torqued everything to spec, paid attention to clearances, etc your motor should be fine. What was the extent of work you had done? Simple "bolt in" parts or did he do any custom porting, polishing, etc?

When I switched to syn I could suddenly do 3rd gear roll on wheelies. I was gonna go with SE 255 cams but my mechanic said they made too much hp in conjunction to the syn oil and I would snap a drive belt so I went with woods cams.....
