Chrome Front End

RE: Chrome Front End
Funny time for this thread--while the ol lady "had a few" in her while in the Bahamas last week, I convinced here I need to pimp my scoot out for shows. My 06 Black Cherry EGC is getting a full chrome front end, polished rotors, and the rims are getting machined and chromed. We got off the plane last night, and I was on the phone to my indy real early this am to come get my scoot
Will post the after pics.......PEZ

RE: Chrome Front End
I paid around 400 to have my lowers, controls, calipers (left-right/front + rear), levers, rear floor boards and brackets chromed. I did the labor myself.
Unless your going for a color theme, like some of the good looking blacked out scoots around here, chromed is the way to go.

Anyone have an answer as to if you can remove the cartridge from the left fork and install a spring assembly from another model year?
I'm getting ready to do the chrome front end, and I want to get rid of that cartridge.

I have a couple of questions about replacing the fork lowers.
1. Is is just as easy the replace them on a bike with a cartridge in the left fork.
2. do I have to completely remove the fork assemblies for replacement.
3. do you need all of the special tool called for in the manual to replace and adjust the fork oil. (this part looks to be a real pain)
I have all of the parts to replace my stock lowers with chrome now but I'm a little apprehensive after reading through the manual and seeing the special tools required.
