I did this also. You need the inner fairing brackets, not just the inner and outer fairings. And it won't fit the stock Road King handle bars without trimming the inner.

Skypilot_One, thought fairing bracket was to hold radio only?

I'm in process of doing this swap now. I have a 2003 RK and am using parts from a 2012 SG
I'm using the
inner and outer fairing sg
All the factory fairing brackets sg
Turn signals and mounts sg
All factory gauges and factory stereo sg
And the factory fairing harness sg
Handle bars sg
Brake line for front brakes from reservoir to calipers sg
Rk handlebar switches throttle and levers.
Most of this project is fairly easy if u are mechanicly inclined.
U will need a 1/2 drill bit to drill a hole in inner fairing for the throttle cables. Everything from the 2012 bolts right up

The part that is a pain is the wiring..
I used tape and a marker to label all plugs so later after u have spent a couple hrs installing the fairing u have something to go on.
Once u have the inner fairing all attached and u have the side marker/ turn signals bolted on
Its time for wiring
I'm not a wiring expert so I'm slow but so far I have the radio working properly.. And all the running lights headlight and turn signals working properly.
I'm going to work on all the gauges during the week this week
And will post pictures as well

I still have to do the center console.
When I do the gauge wiring this week I will change it out and move the ignition up to the SG position
I will take more pictures

Pretty impressive and kudos on all the effort it took to do that. Yeah you do need to ditch that center console and glad mine is finally gone. I was going to have this done and even bought a fairing but had so much going on I decided to keep it simple with a Memphis Shades fairing so I could keep what is about to be one of the most unique Road Kings on the Road.

One of the many undertakings I went with is a 7 gallon tank. Looked like a blimp just sitting there but once it was on the bike, even raw with its unique shape I nixed the fairing idea and sold the fairing. I had to have a custom seat pan built (my Indy is a genius) and other mods like relocating holes for passenger pillion but hoping for it to be finished soon.

I applaud anyone with the effort, patience and skills to do this on their own. I am just not that mechanically inclined but as mentioned, have a most excellent Indy. The guy really thinks outside the box and comes up with some amazing ideas. Just that waiting for my bike to be completed has been killing me and ashamed to say how long it has been in the shop. The tins are at paint now by a master painter where I am having a one of a kind paint scheme done (no flames, skulls, yada yada) and really excited to see the project come to completion.

Looked at aftermarket options i.e. dead center cycles, hoppe, dragonfly etc, and there are some good options, but would rather not put a non HD fairing on if possible.
If I was going to do that I would find a complete front end take off from a wrecked bike. Just put it on your bike and then do the wiring and change the tank out etc.. I often thought about doing the same thing to my Road King.

That's what I started with is a complete takeoff with handle bars.
From a 2012
The wiring isn't difficult really just time consuming.. Most of the wires from my 2003 RK are the same colors as the harness from the 2012 SG
A couple differences here and there and obviously length so extending all of the wires.
The gauges each has 2 power 2 ground and then a sensor wire.
The speedo has 9 wires and the tach has 4
Not to much just tedious
