I recommend buying the MGS's and calling Jaime at Fuel Moto for everything else. Nobody knows more about the '14's than they do and they take care of forum members.

 

After spending way more time on research than a pair of pipes deserves, it took one phone call to Chris and I pulled the trigger. They are some of the best chrome finish I've seen, it was almost a shame to put heat shields on. As for sound. I went with the standard and the have a nice mellow Low note when cruising but damn they wake up nicely with a twist of the grip (mileage has suffered as I like to hear them). Many others have pulled up at a stop to say how great the bike sounds! As mine is a 97' FLHT the fit is great around the side covers, on some newer bikes they don't fit as close as some like. They don't fit perfectly within the cutouts on the ness full fender cover but still looks pretty damn good. Clamps are the weak link, with a couple hundred miles 1 broke and two had loosened - Advise to keep checking them when new!

I just got my 2014 Street Glide home this week. MGS true duals, SE heavy breather, and dyno tuned using the Harley SE tuner. So far, I'm very happy with the MGS true duals. They look great and sound even better (I got the loud baffle). I've only put on 25 miles so far, though. (It's still under 40 degrees up here in North Dakota).

I just picked up the dyno sheet from the dealer yesterday. Max horsepower was 87.35. Max torque was 106.42 ft-lbs. I'm not very knowledgeable on most of this, but the service manager said the 106.42 is very high. (He thought it was a mistake when he first saw it).

My only hesitation would be that your passenger's left ankle/lower leg will sit pretty close to the pipe coming out of the back cylinder. I typically ride by myself, but I wonder if this might not be uncomfortably close for a passenger???

 

I've been reading up on some clearance issues with the rear axle hitting the cans on the MGS because they don't have an indent in the can like the stock ones do.

I have a 2014 on stock shocks and was wondering if this problem is rare or if MGS has fixed this issue.

12" shocks (street glide) not a problem. 13" shocks can make contact on r/s only. Work around is to shim the muffs at the muff mounting points so muffs move closer to the ground. Usually only takes about 1/8"-3/16" spacer.

 

Daisy dukes and flip flops it's going to be a huge problem. Good pair of boots and jeans no problem at all. Wife had no probs 5800 miles to California and back.

 

Just installed mine tonight and I have the stock RK 13" shocks..RH muffler didn't touch the axle. Dropping it off for dyno tomorrow. Will update on numbers and such.

 

Has anyone bought their blems?

Are the loud baffles significantly louder? I want pipes that are loud like the CFR, but with some actual gains.

 

No clearance issues what so ever on a '14 SGS. Easy install and great fit.
