On an Ultra I think they look better than the plastic versions. On a Street Glide or Road Glide, the plastic version painted is the way to go.

 

Good for you! I got the plain ones for my 11 SG, it was the very first thing I bought when I took it home. Look great and work even better. My bike is 100% stock motor and exhaust wise and these things just plain work. Been stuck in traffic jams out on the highway in the summer watching my buddies dance all around from the heat and laughing at them 'cause my thighs were fine.

 

I bought mine last fall, when he ran a special price for Vets.. Bob is a straight up great guy, called me the other day when I emailed him about a couple of concerns. I would pay full retail for them and was going to come spring. But the sale was a bonus...
