National Cycle's Vstream windshield reduced the buffeting for me. It "slices" through the wind better.

Ride safe,

Bob.

Is it better to have the vents open a little to let air pass, or keep them closed? Probably no difference.

Gee, wind on a motorcycle. Who would have thought?

If you eally want to get bounced about by turbulence on a windy day, get out there on a lightweight bike. My commuter bike is a Ninja. That thing feels like it will get blown away occasionally when the wind gets whippin. As a result I have never had reason to complain about how solid my Ultra feels.

I've learned to not hold the handlebars so tight (not only is it bad for your wrist..but bad in wind too). Loosen up your grip and I think you'll be plesently surprised.

I bought my Ultra last March and read all about the Batwing being a handful in the wind, around trucks, etc....I'm sorry, but I just haven't experienced that.
The first couple times we had high wind on the interstate, I did the death grip thing on the bars and braced myself. At least for me, it was much ado about nothing. I have the stock windshield and pretty much a stock bike. IMHO, my ultra is almost as good in those conditions as my '85 Aspencade was...

I went from a Road King to an Ultra and it seems to handle better in the wind for me.

Looks like a relaxed grip, don't slow down, keep twisting throttle are key points. Something I will try. It's not passing trucks, it's mostly the crosswinds.

One tip, if you find the E Glide Ultra top-heavy in the wind, remove the tour pac. That will help a bunch!

Very good hints here, thanks for sharing. I haven't had a real bad time with the wind but I'd rather not have to ride in it and a lot of the time I really don't have a choice!
