Have you boys been having any problems with steering head locks? The innards of mine fell out one day,now I do not trust the foolish thing.Have not been to Harley with it yet.

I never had any problems with mine so I never got it replaced with the recall. Has anyone replaced their own? I was thinking of getting the new one and hanging on to it just in case. Would the dealers allow that?

Never had a problem either. Hey 1FLTRI4ME, there's no such thing as a "recall" in H/D MoCo language! It's an upgrade! My dealer replaced mine

They probly won't. In a true safety recall parts must be kept by the dealer or MoCo and they may destroy them under certain circumstances. However, many dealers will give you back old parts if you request them when they write a service order, but not sure they can give em back when it's an 'upgrade'. Sweet talk the dealer... it'd save them the installation labor.

Haven't had a problem yet. What years does this 'upgrade' apply to?

So far I have not had any problems, and I hope I never do but who knows what waits around the corner...
