Is your bike a '10 or newer? The newer bikes fairings are raised up close to an inch. I have a 14" clear on my 08, but I'm 6'2". I like the clear for night and rain riding in case you end up looking through it! If your bike is a newer model a 10" will probably be fine, older I think a 12" might give you better protection.

6'1" and a 10" windvest......works great, but I also sit on a H/D Rally Runner seat that sits you down about 1-1/2" or so lower than a 2010 FLTRX stock seat.
I prefer the light tint shield because I like to see what's immediately in front of me when doing slow speed manuvering such as in crowded parking areas, gravel roads/parking lots etc.
Even the flared areas on the sides of the shield offer minimal distortion (as opposed to others I have tried).
Great shield!
