Default 1st ride with new knee

Had my right knee replaced in Mid December and was able to take my first ride today. The weather is dry and somewhere above 30 but less than 40. The smile on my face is frozen

Happy to be riding again!

Congrat's on being able to ride again. My wife is facing this in the future. Her bad knee took her from a 2 wheeler to a Triglide. Doctor's say she will probably have to have it replaced within two years or so. Glad to hear good result's. Ride Safe!

Its like being born again aint it.. Went through same with sine surgery to rapair broken back damage from Army days. Man I could not walk for year and a half prior, 10 days later was golfing, bought a KLR 650, then 2 atv's, then 2 Harleys , 5 harleys later that frikken operation cost me 100+ k living it up like my days are numbered. You should do the same.

What type of knee replacement did you have? Full/Partial/ type of proceedure? I'm really looking at haveing my Rt done, rebuilt 30 yr ago and its not doing to well. How much use do you have 1 1/2 months into recovery %?

Good you could get out. Wheather probably does't get much better than that up there this time of year.

TKR is a rough surgery for sure.
I was ridin' 7 weeks post op.
Goin' on 2 years and it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread yet for me..
It's gettin' better, but it will not ever be as good as the natural.

Recovering from arthroscopic surgery on my right knee and hoping it's strong enough by spring to ride again. Doc says next time is total knee replacement. Glad to hear that you are riding. Gives me some hope for the future.

Glad to hear some good news on here for a change. Don't overdue it and that new knee will outlast you!

Hey I had a Total Knee replacement. I limped for 7 years before doing the replacement. My recovery is going really well. I am pushing at therapy and have done really well. If you want to talk about it more, pm me and we can exchange phone numbers.

Congrats on the ride and the recovery. Good friend has had both knees done, he is well into his 70's now, rides better than most people I know. Before having them done he was pretty crippled up walking but still rode. Think the best improvement for him is that he doesn't bring his crutches on his bike now.
