Default Remove Bags from 2011 RKC

I'm thinking of taking the bags off my RKC semi-permanently. They're off now and it's pretty ugly. Does anyone have a any pictures or suggestions for a "bagless" Road King Classic that looks clean?

One thing I was thinking of adding is some chrome progressive shocks. Additionally I have read that they're a lot better than stock.

I have seen many, many people/companies that have tried to de-bag a RK. Only one or two have suceeded in my opinion and it took a major rehaul from the seat to taillight to make it look good. And at that point puting bags back on was really not an option.

RK are designed with bags. And look great with bags. I'd say leave it, but that is my bias.

It will be intersting to see if anything good shows up in the tread.

I went down to the news stand to check it out. Looks pretty good (has the progressive shocks) however I'm not sure about those two angled support rods. Thanks for pointing it out.

I kind of agree with you. Had to take the bags off for some warranty work and left them with the dealer. My wife is now going on how she likes it better without the bags. I'm trying to get some images to show her.

I really like the way the stock bike looks and am curious if anyone has gotten the bags off and managed to preserve the RK look.

Definitely different. I'm not sure it's an improvement. Thanks for posting.

Go with a Street Glide rear fender, lose the hoop and bag supports.

Yeah, if I recall there was a lot of grinding involved. Really the issue is the bag support, not much you can do there - either remove or leave it there, either way has its issues if you are going bagless. You can find chrome shocks pretty easily.

I've seen the mentioned RK in AIM....IMO it didn't look good.
