Just ordered a set of CFRs, putting them on 02 RK (88) with stock heads, PC3, & map from Jaime.
Will add a clip here once installed...
I'm anticipating needing to upgrade to TD's but wanted to see what the stock head can do...

Well, I went through a couple different Slip-ons over the past 3 years, but think I've finally found what I was looking for... and I was surprised with my choice!

I went from the RUSH SO's w/2.25" Baffles, to Rinehart's (3.5" set), and then to the NEW 4" Rinehart's. I finally made the swap after looking through a lot of different styles/sound clips.

I now run the Kuryakyn Crusher exhaust, and got them for about $450 (through BKRider, I believe).

They have a deep growl at idle, and turn some heads, and they can be heard while cruising, but are not too loud... and when you get on it, they come alive. Great deep rumble, nice sound, and a good balance of Loud and Mild, while being heard by cagers. They won't get you in trouble, but they let you get noticed.

I'm extremely happy with sound, fit and finish on these pipes!!

Bassani FLH529, V&H Dresser Duals, 95" w/204 cams.

I can tell you the bike sounds totaly different with the dresser dual head pipes and the 95" build than it did when it was a stock TC88 with just slip ons.

Click for a sound bite. Used IPhone so it really doesnt do the sound justice.

I'd vote for the Jackpots. Have the 4" on my 2012 limited and they sound great. Gonna try the quiet tunable baffle for when I want it a bit quieter. Can't beat the price either.

Do you mean the 3.5's or the 4"? I don't believe they make a 4.5?

Fuel Moto has sound clips but nothing with the quiet baffle for comparison.

I agree that 6 bills is a lot for any set of mufflers..... but that's what they can get so that's what they sell for..

If you want a good economy option, you might take a look at Wild Pigs. These are basically the same muffler as Rush and even use the exact same baffles as Rush. Nothin fancy, but they do have four (or maybe more) baffle options so you can choose your sound level.

I have BUB Straight 8's on a stock headpipe. They look and sound great. I get a LOT of comments on both the looks and sound. I'm not sure if BUB even still makes them but you might be able to pick up a pair at Eastern Performance.

They were about $370 delivered.
