Just wanted to give a big KUDOS to both Howard and to Ohlin USA for great customer service. First of all I'm vertically challenged 5'5 with 27" inseam so my bike has been lowered 1" front and went to Ohlin 2-2 (12" length) in the back. Now, I'm a bit portly and after discussions with Howard we figured I could get away with the 2-2 Ohlins provided we had the right springs and preload adjustment. Unfortunately try as we did we couldn't get the 2-2's to work out given my 215lbs and a shock stroke of only 2 1/2".

As most of you know Howard had a riding accident couple of weeks before X-mas and was seriously injured to the point that he physically couldn't work on his beloved shocks. Howard was kind enough to call Ohlin USA and setup a workorder with them to take in my 2-2's and see if they could rework them by coming up with a combination of Spring and Valves. After a week of testing they determined that it would be better for me to run with the 2-2a Ohlin Shocks and proceeded to order the necessary parts from Sweeden.

So, long story short, Ohlin USA and Howard are all about customer service and standing behind their excellent Product. Sure, Ohlin USA could have said, Hey Buddy, that's what you ordered and tough love, but instead they put Customer Service and Satifaction first. Now they have an ambassador for their Product and their Service.

That new version will add 20mm of travel which translates to 30% more travel while only adding 1/8" to the length of the shock. That should work out well.

 

And that, my friends, is just one reason to pony-up and ride with Ohlins.
