Default Soft lowers

So the wife lets me open an early Christmas gift yesterday, and its a set of soft lowers for my 04 EG Classic. Great gift I tell her so I go out and put them on before work this morning and ride in to work. It seems to me instead of blocking the wind they just re-direct it. Now instead of hitting my shins (which are covered with chaps anyway) the wind seems to be funneling up into my neck and face. Has anyone else had this happen? Would a set of the fairing mounted deflectors stop this or just add to the problem?

Hey boe, they work really well if combined with the fairing air deflectors and the fork baffle.
The deflectors push the air around you a bit more and the baffle drives some of the air downward under the tank.
Baffle is....

Nice combo, works for me really well.

If you want it in black get the one that comes stock on the Road Glide from the parts guy. Mine was $14.95.

And FYI, I have the same problem with the soft lowers for my Heritage Classic. Cuts the stuff off my legs but routes it up under the face shield. OK at slower speeds (less than 55) but who wants to go that slow?

Ditto what Mick said. That's exactly what I do. Haven't installed the fork deflectors yets, not cold enough, but the air baffle with the soft lowers works like a champ.

Only have done a short test ride with the soft lowers on my RK - did notice some redirection of wind toward my head. Figure that I can bundle up my face easier than find a way to warm up my toes. Hoping the lowers help prevent the dress pants from migrating up on the ride to work...

with an RK I would definately get the fork wind deflectors and the air baffle that mounts under the triple tree. With my EGC the fairing stops all that wind rush to the face using the soft covers.
