I'm looking at getting a c&c solo (no backrest) from a forum member, anyone know if c&c can install a rider's backrest to it? Or does it have to be done at the time of purchase.

 

I just ordered a C&C solo seat and had the hardware added now. They told me they can't really add it later - must be done at time of manufacture. You should call to verify, but I don't think you can add it.

This is the first rider backrest that I've had, and I have to say I like it!!

When you call, ask if you can get the seat with the backrest slot, but not the backrest....and can buy just the backrest later...

Yes, you can do this.

I believe they add $100 for the backrest hardware in the seat (without the backrest itself).

 

I went through this with me first C&C seat. Ordered it without the hardware for the backrest. I called Chuck later to get it added. He told me it would be $400.00 plus shipping both ways. The hardware is built into the seat pan when they make it so adding it later means shipping your seat to them then they take your cover and install it on a new seat pan with the hardware in it. Depending on the options the cover has it is about the same price as a new seat. I just ordered a new seat and plan on selling my old one.
