Take fit from the ear plug king, with the ear plugs blocking the wind noise, you can other sounds BETTER.

I've been wearing ear plugs for the better part of 35 years due to a noisy job, while I'm sleeping, (the ole lady snores), and while riding the bikes, and once you get used to them you will never ride without them.

BTW, the yellow foam ones are the best for riding and you can buy a whole box for about 15 bux and will last at least 2 riding seasons.

no if I'm going around town, but yes if I'm going for longer rides. I usually have my ipod with me then and noise canceling earphones

Yes on longer rides, not around town. Probably should all of the time since I can't hear anything from years of loud music, guns and riding.

I always wear ear plugs. What are the benefits?

-No pain from wind noise
-I can hear my stereo better
-I can hear cars around me better
-I can hear my passenger better

Cutting out all that wind blast lets my ears distinguish other sounds.

The most effective and most comfortable ones I have found are Howard Leight Max ear plugs. The second best are the regular Howard Leight ones. I get them on Amazon.

Hearing loss in no joke. I usually do when on the bike. It makes the ride a little less stressful but I feel somewhat isolated from my surroundings when I use it.

I wear "in ear soft earphones" sometimes I listen to music or an audio book, sometimes just use them as ear plugs.

Isn't that how you fix the top end noise?

I usually have my earphones in which have the foam earplug material. If not, I wear them when the windshield is off. Damn wind noise will make you go deaf.

Based on this thread I think I am going to start. Is it true you can actually hear your passenger better? That may be a detriment with my wife!
