hot pipes

That's what my headpipe looked like when I removed it..... My limited even yellowed the chrome just after the cat.
Harley looked at it and said nothing was wrong with the bike and warranty'd the slip on.....
My wife is allergic to cats so I had to let it go......
Love my true duals!!

I emailed the same picture to the steeler and they said everthing looks normal to them. They said the rear cylinder gets less air, they are so smart sometimes you know, so I guess I'll be doing a lot more power slides.

I sent the pic to the Steeler and they said all looked normal and that the back cylinder does not get as much air as the front. (they are so smart sometimes you know) That told me what I needed to know, I'll do more power slides, get more air going to that back cylinder. Thank You Mr. Steeler!!!

That sure does not look like cats doing that. I thought mine was hot, my back was bad but not as bad as the picture. Mine was blue/purple starting from the curve all the way underneath. Went back to the HD dealer and they told me some bikes run hotter than others. So I dropped all the pipes, and went with the Rush True Duals, and a stage 1 and power vision. Bike is running alot cooler. Engine temps are about 20 degrees cooler.

My head pipe looked just like that. The heat was unreal! Replaced it with the Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-1-2 header. Made a world of improvment in the heat, the sound, performance is noticably better. I put the old header on the shelf just in case I ever need to put it back on for emission reasons. Its an easy mod, took about 3 hours.
