If not rent, then find a dealer with the demo fleet.
the road glide has a frame mounted fairing, which may be similar to the aerodynamics of the BMW.
The rider experience will be much different in terms of wind exposure.
Ultra and other bikes with "batwing" fairing transfer wind buffeting as "steering input" as the fairing is mounted to the forks, the fairing also unloads the front end at high speeds.
But with the batwing, you can tuck into the windscreen in crap weather and i prefer the rider experience in terms of wind.
it's each his own.
H-D touring bikes of the same model year will share frame, drivetrain, suspension and major components, the big difference in models is the amount of fiberglass ( abs) hanging off them, or not.
You gotta ride to decide.
IF you don't need rear pass speakers/intercom, CB radio and fairing lowers, the Electraglide Classic is a great way to go ( for a batwing)- I add fairing lowers to mine and come out thousands ahead of an Ultra- and no rear speakers means I can pack my Tbag on the pass seat
