posted this on the suspension thread.. didnt het any hits.... maybe i put in wrong section..
i am really thinking of going with the Ohlin's 6 vs the 3's for my 2011 SG. Spoke to Howard... trying to put aside the extra $ for 6's but maybe will have to go with the 3's... can anyone with the 6's please post photos of the external resovoir and how you installed it.. i have seen a photo on the forum installed on the tourpak mount, but i dont have a tourpak.. are there any clearance issues with the external resovoir on the 6's on a SG with no tourpak ? can it break off and get lodged into the rear tire while riding ? or should i go with the 3's for half the price ?
btw - buy your ohlins from Howard, great price and support as per HDforum.. hope ure doing better Howard. cheers.

Howards install kit leaves a few loose ends that you need to sort out, depending on whats on your bike.

Here's you a pic of mine:

I replaced the stock shock bolts with some good Grade 8 bolts during the install. No need to mount on a tour pak rail. The saddle bags cover the reservoir, however it is accessible from the rear for adjustments.
In my opinion, these are the best shocks you can put on a bagger. You can put cheaper, but.......
