Sounds like you have a bit too much air in it, try letting some more out... u should be able to rock back and forth and feel the trapped air move in compliance

Yep. I agree. I use an Air Hawk II. That little cushion saved me from being a cripple. You need to ride it with very little air in the blatter....that a way your weight gets fully distributed and makes for no pressure points.

I swear by mine.
