FWIW, I have a french visor-style ring on mine, and it has a very small gap at the bottom; I had to install it w/o the factory ring underneath to get it this close.


I don't mind because it is rock solid tight, and I can't see it from behind the fairing.

The "I can't see it from behind the fairing" part is where I've been with it for 5 years but when the parts & service guys come out last Saturday and say, "That's not right"....It stirred this **** up again for me.....yet, they had no solution and I have to say that it seriously bothered them and they were set on finding a solution....and they did not.....

...and if I'm not mistaken, removing the stock ring also means you removed the rubber gasket that is supposed to keep bugs & water from getting behind the bulb?

...all they had to do was make the french trim ring the same as the stock ring so that we could remove the stock ring and replace it with the french trim
