Default Vent options w\ SE Intake?

I'm looking to install a SE stage one intake on my 2011 Road King with a 96ci motor. My question is:
Is the venting system on this partiular intake part of the back plate casting or are they hoses that go into the back plate like stock?

On previous HDs I've had I always plugged the back plate holes and vented the motor with hoses to a T connection and then to a small filter. If I get this intake am I gonna be able to do this?

Thanks in advance

I know with SE Heavy Breather it machined into the backing plate.
From the pics on the HD website it looks as if it's machined into the Stage 1 backing plate as well.

You may want to look at the Ness Big Sucker- it's a better bang for buck than the S/E

The S/E now comes with a paper filter.

The Ness has a washable, oiled filter.

Like the S/E the Ness has the breather passages cast into the backing plate.

Both use the stock football cover ( which hides a big ugly plug and wiring at 9 o'clock on the intake).

the Ness is available with the chrome backing plate for about $120 shipped.

Check ebay seller easternpc

as far as drooling--- the "new improved" head breather filter/valve is on your bike ( heard that before?), but mine is just fine.

like always breather mist is related to overfull oil tank ( I run a pint low), and can also be related to cam and pipe selection- if you have reversion pulses pushing out the throat.

"mkguitar" has given you good advice .... let me also add to be sure and apply some Loc-Tite to the two vent bolts that attach the backing plate ... I had one come loose ... and fall out ( yes I did use a torgue wrench on initial installation ) I have never had a problem with oil seeping ( misting ) on mine, other than when the bolt fell out ... Hope this helps.

Before you buy the SE/INTAKE look hard at the Boyesen Power X Intake

You might want to take a look at Fuel Moto for the intake.

They have the SE unit and include the washable K&N filter instead of the paer one that comes from HD.

Looked at their site and they have a real nice billet backing plate option. Not sure if they have talked about it at all but it looks nice.

I've had the Ness Big Sucker and it really is a cheap a$$ cast plate. I had issues with the mounting hardware breaking/stripping etc. Once in place it worked fine but I swapped it out for a Doherty. If FM had this billet option when I was looking I would have got that one.

Almost forgot, R&R Cycles has a real nice AC option. It cost about $240 but it is set up so that you vent it to atmosphere instead of back into the intake. (You have to supply your own vent hoses.)
