I am in the same situation. I am leaning towards the Fastback for a couple of reasons. I have some scratches on the rear fender from the stock seat. I like the looks and how it follows the bike, but talking to the guys at C & C the fastback offers more lumbar support in their opinion. I am going with the backrest as well. Good luck. Can't really go wrong with either seat.

Guys
Many thanks to all of you. As several pointed out, my rear fender has the blemishes from the stock passenger seat. Think I will go with the Fastback and Driver back rest (old man needs a lil back support) Really appreciate all the replies.

Default Fastback

I went with the fastback as well, and i did get the back rest and i must say it's pretty darn comfy. Was comfy enough to ride 5200 miles in 8 days no problem.......

I usually like the look of a solo seat (I have a Danny Gray on my FXDL) but for whatever reason, in my opinion, on the RG the C&C Fastback just looked better. It also provides better lower back support. I bought mine with the detachable back rest but it's been so comfortable that so far I haven't used it.
