Default R^2 Heated Grips

So, I searched the forums for heated grips but couldn't find anything to help me answer my question.

I have a 2011 Ultra Lmtd and I want to change out the stock heated grips w/ different H-D heated grips. According to the instructions you need to get in the fairing, pull some wires and what not. Since I already have heated grips installed do I really need to do all that work or is it just as simple as taking off the old grips and putting the new ones on? I've already had the right grip off b/c of a shorted off/start switch so I know that grip is just that easy. The left one I'm not so sure though.

The left grip has glue in there. It will not be as easy as the right one.

Well cr@p, guess that means I should do the chrome switch housings at the same time then. And if I'm thinking of swapping out the bars guess I should do that all at the same time. Since the left is glued does it get destroyed when you remove it?

If you already have heated grips installed the left grip should not be glued. Split the switch housing and then twist the grip off. The housing acts as a clamp to hold the grip on and keep it from rotating.

RayK,

Since I haven't opened up the left side switch housing yet I was hoping that was the case.

Does anyone know a/b the other part of my question? Since I already have the factory heated grips installed do I need to get into the fairing? Or can I just take the old grip off and push on the new grip?
