If the wires survive the installation intact, you won't have any problems. once iNStalled, the wires don't move...thus there is nothing that will cause any strain on them.

When I installed mine, I tie wrapped the wires to another bundle near the exit point, thereby "locking" the wires in place.....nothing to pull on them.

They are in.....work great....and are permanent.

Agree 100%
I work in automotive lighting. When a new vehicle is being developed, obviously it needs lighting (crash cars, night drives, shake down runs etc). We make them "hole filler" ( head lamps, park turn & back up) lamps, which are simply mock ups.
For the rear lighting we actually use trailer lighting.
My point;
I've had hundreds of these made, all with soldered and shrink wrapped connections on both stranded and solid wires and have never had a failure due to breakage.
Sorry I got a little windy here.

A crimp connection will corrode over time. May still outlive the bike though depending on the environment. A solder connection will not go bad.

Smitty....I'd have to submerse my bike in water to get it to corrode....it's all shrinkwrapped!

Are you afraid to pull the plug through the bars because of internal wiring? I just finished a set of +2 Sweepers on my FLHX and just bought a TBW extension from Barnett. It worked like a charm. I didn't have to splice anything. Maybe I'm missing something.

I'd did the Green Plug rodeo on first bar change. Second bars I eliminated green plug, extended & soldered wires... No problem!

Yeah, what they said. A splice is crushing the wires together which weakens them. A soldier joint when correctly applied is bonding the wires together. I actually pulled the green connector through my new bars by shrink wrapping the connector so that it didn't get caught on any of the edges.

Good luck with your install.

Well, I told you what I did, and that it worked. Like talking to a fk'n wall.

I'm done. Good luck.
