Maybe did not search right so will ask. Want to have my inner painted on my Street Glide, but thinking of going away from fairing mounted mirrors. Will the inner from a Classic/Ultra fit a Street Glide. From what I can see the only difference would be the holes for the mirrors so I think it will. Also how many SG owners have changed from fairing mirrors to regular and was it a good choice. Thanks for your thoughts.

mirrors-? har mounted mirrors may be more practical, especially if the fairing mounted mirrors just show your arms.

my experience- I test rode a bike with a painted inner fairing ( red sunglo) and the glare was horrendous on a sunny September day in Phoenix.
I wouldn't have mine painted because of that

I have had a vivid black painted inner and a bright silver(pewter pearl), neither has the slightest issue from sun reflection.

 

I got Sedona orange painted on my road glide. I love it and the glare isn't bad.

I have heard that the ultra should swap fine with the SG. As for mirrors, I was given a set of Willie G. handlebar mirrors so I put those on and didn't realize I hated the fairing mounted ones until I put them on. I'm glad I swapped. I can't explain why, but it just seems like I have a better field of view now.

 

I've had painted inner fairings on both my Street Glides. Black Ice and Candy Root Beer. Never had a glare issue. Have received tons of comps though.....

 

The StreetGlide inner fairing in the same as the Classic & Ultra except the SG has the holes for the fairing mirrors. Just make sure its the later years model for the FBW throttle if not theres an extra hole in it for the throttle cables.
