I have a similar story ...my wife took her car to the shop to have the oil changed...they sold her a set of tires, which they installed and then told her it was closing time and they didn't have time to change the oil....needless to say we aren't going back to that shop...

Nobody but me works on my bike, for anything. I have been carrying pins and screws in my shoulder for 35 years because I let a factory tech work on my race bike, never again!

I guess not all dealerships are made equal. I bought rear brake pads from my local dealer late in the afternoon. Got home and realized that they made a mistake and gave me the wrong part. The parts manager asked where I lived (about 13 miles from dealer) and said they would be closed before I could get there. He offered to bring the correct part to me, which he did. They are a great example of how a dealer needs to act. Now don't get me wrong, they will charge the hell out of you for service. But I feel confident in them to correct a mess up on thier end. The dealer is BUMPUS in Memphis by the way!

Actually I did this time just because of the earlier discussions with them. Normally would pay cash.

I normally do my own wrenching, but it was the middle of the summer and I am in the a/c business and time was limited.

And that's why I started a mobile motorcycle servicing business. Let the bike owner be right there while the work is happening so they can point out those little "gremlins" we all seem to have in our bikes.
