Default New Years Day 50 out and...

So here it is New Years Day 2012 and it is 50 out here on Cape Cod. I have to work, but, I am planning on going for a ride after work to ring in the new year. Now for the fun part! It had rained some last night. I am leaving the house just about 7:20. The sun had come up, clear skys and like it usually does, the temp drops just a bit after sunrise. Walk out the door, lock the door and BANG! On my A** on the ground three steps down! Didn't spill any coffee! End result: at least one broken rib, maybe more after landingon the stairs side first. Slight concussion after whacking the back of my head. NO after work ride on a sunny, warm New Years Day. Crap!! Hope everyone else had a good New Year!

Be safe,

Neil

Sorry to hear that. I live just west of Worcester and put on about 50 miles today. It was 48 and the roads were dry.I passed one other bike and it was also a bagger. Hope you heal quick.

Damn! I hope the rest of the year is better for you. Hopefully this is gets all the bad crap out of the way on day one for you. It was around 50 here today and I got in a few hours of riding. Hope you mend quick.

What a lousy way to start a new year. It was near 60 in Rhode Island, so the bike came out. We did about 70 miles. Great way to start the new year. Hope the rest of the year is better than the start.

Sorry to hear about your fall. It was nice here in Seattle area today. Saw a few baggers on the road today. But my Ultra Classic has been winterized and put to rest for the winter. Darn it!

Neil, sorry to hear about your tumble down the steps....
Here in New England the temps always drop @ sunrise, and turn
slightly wet footing into black ice.

We ventured up a couple mountains on foot yesterday.... five and a half
miles hiking and 6 hours of peace and quiet.

Hopefully the rest of your New Year is slip and fall free.....

Default Sorry

Sorry to hear about the fall. Our club went out yesterday in Southern Md, had 54 bikes show up for the Polar Bear ride. Great time, and good food.

Won't last however, storm is heading this way.

Default Sorry for the fall.

I hope you mend well and fast. I fell a few weeks ago and had to go do acupuncture a couple of extra times. BTW, there is always a upside to most everything. It could have happened during the summer as you walked out to door on the first day of your vacation to take a ride, plus you didn't spill any coffee. See what I mean.
