Default To cover or not to cover!

I store my RK in the garage during the winter months. Would it be beneficial to also cover the bike with a waterproof cover? Does it make a difference? I was going through the Cyclegear ad and they had a Bilt cover for $39.99. Seems like a good price, not sure if it's a good cover. Thanks.

If it's inside you don't need a waterproof cover and using one may or may not cause some condensation issues. If you're concerned get an old sheet from the wife and cover it with that. Won't make too much difference though, it'll still get dusty even under a cover.

No cover for me. It's much easier to clean dust off tins than remove rust and corrosion from hardware.

I use a cotton sheet off our old California King waterbed........
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing my bike is
under a breathable cover. I peek in on her once a week,
making sure the battery tender is still doing its job.

I use a breathable cover, and put an open box of moth ***** under the bike. It traps the fumes in and keeps mice from causing damage as well as a few dryer sheets tucked in here and there.

Covering it up tempts people to pile stuff on it or lean stuff near it. Not us guys, of course, because we love our bikes...

I never cover it inside the garage. A little dust does not hurt and I still ride a lot during the winter.

If you're going to cover it up ... and why not? ( it keeps the big chunks off the scooter during the winter ) do use a "breatheable cover" ... a waterproof ( outdoor ) cover will definitely trap all the moisture/condensation under the cover and deposit it on the bike .... as stated earlier, even a couple of old cotton sheets ( Salvation Army ? ) would do the job nicely .....

I ride during the winter (Florida). When I do cover the bike in the garage, I use two sheets sewn together.

+1 on the old sheet. Cheap and won't trap moisture.
