Default Heated Gear Question

I just got my first piece of heated gear...the HD heated hoodie. Does the bike need to be running for the jacket to heat up....or will it heat up with just the ignition on?

Default Warm gear

I have a Warm Gear liner and the plug is wired direct to battery with inline fuse.

I don't think the acc switch controls cigar lighter. However when the ignition is turned to acc it should power the lighter. As far as heated gear, it runs on 12v and doesn't require bike to be running to warm up just needs to have power to it.

Did you end up connecting to the sae plug hanging off bike?

Your heated gear should have come with a pigtail to wire directly to the battery with an inline fuse. Some people use the sae pigtail but be advised the sae pigtail is for a battery tender which does not draw near the amperage that a heated jacket does so it is a good idea to install the pigtail that came with the jacket.

Cheers Tim

Okay thanks guys. I wired it to the sae using the sae to coax splitter. Just didn't seem to get very hot. So it's better to go to the battery rather than the fused acc power?
