Default Iphone mounting and control, 2008 Street Glide

Does anyone have an aesthetically pleasing way to mount an Iphone to a Street Glide? The RAM mounts seam sturdy, but they aren't very nice to look at.

Also, is there a way to connect the phone to the stock stereo besides the auxiliary jack? I'd like to be able to control the phone's music player through the handle bar controls.

Harley's Boom stuff interfaces with iPods/iPhones and stores in the saddle bag, There are also aftermarket systems for half the price. Do a search on these forums as its been discussed at length

I have my ipod touch in a clear front holster which clips to my tbag windshield bag thingy.

that way I can see the display with out taking eyes off the road. ( maps/directions).

aux in with a griffin cable that has play/pause next track switch inline ( $15)

and run power from the lighter.

it is very possible to spend more than i have.

I test rode a CVO just to try out the ipod interface

1.) it's in the saddlebag so no maps

2.) while the bike controls the ipod/iphone, I had my eyes off the road way too much looking at the radio display while paging thru menus

I did try the griffin airclick mentioned in the previous post, the controls didn't always work 1st button press, and the unit would stop and reset while riding- returned it, replacement did the same thing

I really like the Iphone capabilities for riding. I use it for GPS, Pandora (music), and plan on interfacing phone use at some point in the future.

For mounting, I purchased the Kurakyn GPS fuel door lid and push button. This works very well. I also purchased a finger "grip puppy" that allows me to use the screen with my gloves on. My Iphone is in an "otter box" case that is virtually waterproof and I have not had any problems. I actually took off the "belt clip" of the otter box belt carrier, and mounted it to the Kurakyn lid. Works well and very secure.

Currently I am just running a short cable into the aux port on the stereo from the phone. To charge the phone (and for long trips), I just use a car charger plugged into the cigar lighter.

As far as integration of the phone into the bike goes, I am waiting for J&M audio to finish up their bluetooth integration kit. I ordered the kit from eglidegoodies quite a while back, and then learned that J&M was re-designing the kit. It is supposed to be released in January (per eglidegoodies website "contact us" page). It looks like this kit will bluetooth the phone into the bikes existing radio/intercom setup. If they do not release it soon, I may go another direction and look forward to checking out some of the links that some of you have posted here.

For some reason, I am unable to get pics to post off my computer. I will try to get them up here. It keeps asking for a URL just to insert an image???

RAM mounts are hard to beat if your value your stuff. I for one dont want to see my $600 iphone laying on the pavement.

Thanks that is the best setup I've seen. I think I will go this way also.
