Default Fork Lowering Springs ?

I am verticaly chalenged . I bought a 2008 FLHRC this spring . Love it but right off i realized it sat a little tall for me .
first thing i did was have the seat lowered buy MeanCITY that helped a lot . i have bought some 12" street glide shocks i am putting on soon as it warms up a bit .

I am considering getting the progresive lowering springs for my front forks .

looking for feedback from those of you that have installed them ?
how did they work out for you ?

I did the HD fork lowering kit....HATED it! It popped and banged and rode like sh*t! I then went with the Progressive "Drop-In" kit and like it MUCH better. Nice and quiet, smooth ride and the height is adjustable, depending on the length that you cut the PVC. I dropped mine 1.5" in the front and still get a good ride out of it. I went with 1" lowered air shocks in the rear, then sat on it, measured the frame to the ground in the rear and determined that 1.5" drop is what I wanted, so I just matched the rear with the front.

I used SE oil and in my opinion, for me, it may be too thick. When I have some time, I am going to change it out to a 50/50 mix of SE and stock oil. I'm sure that will help.

I will second the Progressive drop in kit. I lowered mine 1" and it worked well. I also used the SE fork oil and wish I would have stuck with the normal oil as it can be harsh and not absorb much. If it wasnt so much work to dump the oil and refill I would have done it a long time ago.

Progressive & Burley !! Burley slammer kit went into my '07 SG. Ride is a little stiffer but I like it AND I am flat footed on my bike

i watched the progresive youtube video . looked like a snap but i have a flhrc road king . i wonder how much disasembly of the forks is nessary ? is it still a drop in prosedure with the RK after the headlight and nesel removed ,

who with a roadking has done the progressive drop in lower springs ?
whats involved?

I did my own on my RKC.....3 times!!! Once for the HD kit, and 2 times within 2 days for the Progressive kit (wanted it lower). I removed the fork tubes from the triple trees (you can't get the fork caps off to remove the springs unless you remove them), which means front wheel, calipers, fender, and all the fixin's came off.

you should go with heavier oil- nobody sadder than an owner whose fender kissed the triple tree on a pothole.
heavier oil ( damping) may prevent that.

Just keep in mind that any reduction is suspension travel will result in a harsher ride.

I'm down 1.5" and I haven't hit....yet. I have a lowered fender in the paint shop right now so that will help alleviate the clearance. I also have a "flatter" front brake "Y" under my triple tree which helps clearance too.
