Default Softail wheels on a touring bike.

Looking thru the parts and accessories catalog wheel section I noticed the Stinger wheels. Although they don't list them for the touring bikes I wonder if anybody has tried to make them work? I realize that they are single rotor wheels but other than that is there a reason they wouldn't fit? I really think they are a nice look and would make a nice add to my Street Glide.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Softails have offset hubs & 3/4" bearings.
Touring bikes have 1" bearings & centered hubs.

Since Harley went to sealed ball races, my understanding is the wheels have been much more interchangeable. So 3/4", 1" and 25mm bearings can all be fitted to their wheels. However which size was used on each range of bikes is a bit of a jumble!

I believe Softails continued to use 3/4" bearings until around 2007, touring bikes used 1" from around 2002. Then Harley went metric in 2008, so many if not all their bikes now use 25mm bearings.

As for the SG, they have had three different size front rims AFAIK, plus a much wider rear rim from 2009, so matching Stinger wheels will be a bit of a challenge! Be interesting to hear if anyone has already fitted them.
