Mirrors with apes
#11
Ended up making these (made 2 but only use one on the LH side) The stalk is polished bronze (which took awhile to make) and the hardware is polished stainless. I bought a black sportbike mirror (black to be less noticeable) with convex glass. Much smaller than stock and still good visibility.

I got these HD mirrors. I am surprised how well I can see behind me. They have a wide view.

I am in the same boat. I just put 12.5" bars on and while I can still use my fairing mirrors, I don't like them. Looking at the Ness Rad II mirrors.
See them here on a member's bike.

Check out www.demonscycles.com. I found a bunch of low profile mirror options, pretty reasonable prices too. (BTW, I am in no way affiliated with the company)

You should have left the fairing mirrors on. I have 12 in Yaffe bars on my Street Glide and can see just fine out of the stock fairing mirrors. Some may not like the look of the fairing mirrors but IMO they look better than mirrors mounted on apes. Some of the small rad mirrors look okay but not very functional.
