You can take the rubber off of the Heel shifter pulled the Toe shifter out even to end of the shaft and cut a piece of the rubber to the right lenght to use as a spacer behind it. The under cut end of the rubber fits nice over the metal spacer and when you are done if you have the stock rubber on you Toe shifter it looks like it was supposed to be that way.

Yeah, I thought about that, but decided against it.

I ended up getting one off eBay for $11.00 shipped.

Good tip!!! Now I know there is a use for all those heel shifters that I have accumulated.

Because of a left knee replacement I also use one of them to extend my shifter peg. I purchsed a longer shoulder bolt and added the rubber from one to a measured lenght of a second one to make a factory styled extended shifter peg. With the larger tanks on touring bikes this will help anyone.

Invert the shifter and replace it behind the toe shifter.Looks good and shifters break,you always have a spare.No cost to you.

yep, it is held in place with a set screw. The cap also works well if you go from mid to forward controls and just want to hide the old mid control shifter nub (like on a Dyna).
