Default Road Kings an Corbins...

I have a 2005 RKC, I have been looking for a seat and I really like the corbins solos but not the ones on the website that fit my bike according to their web site, I like the solos from 2008 an up.

Why wont it fit and is there somthing I can do to make it fit? Has anyone ever but on a leter year corbin on an older road king?

I really like the look of the 2009-11 classic solo. Any advice?

corbin sucks.*

the 09 frame is wider than the 08 and earlier frame which is why no fit- the edges of the seats don't line up with the frame rails.

the 07 and earlier have a different mounting system than 08 and later at the tank.

so, 2 reasons why it won't fit.

seat manufacturers make the slight changes to the seat pan to fit the new models but the seat design and surface should be much the same 05 or 12

mustang & lepera have been around for along time, you could also check out Danny Gray for a small shop "custom" seat

I have had nothing but good results with Corbin. I have been riding their seats since 1995 and over 100,000 miles. Most comfortable seat I have ever had.

I just inquired about a Corbin for my 2012, and had my questions answered within 24 hours.

I had a solo with add on pillon on my 1995 RoadKing, I had a dual tour on my 2005 Classic and loved it. I know it is not what you want, but it is a great seat for the long haul.

As I am going to the Laughlin River Run in April, I did not order a seat, but decided to wait and pick one up at the rally.

The 08-up tank is larger, too. I'm sure you could buy one and make it work, but I'm almost certain it would not be a bolt on operation.

I had a solo + pilion for an 09-up RK and ended up selling it. Just wasn't for me, liked it on my other bikes but it didn't agree with me on my Harley.

I like the looks of the Corbin and the fact that it locks on your bike. But, there are way too many posts about how hard they are. I've been very happy with my Mustang solo, it's very comfortable and I've put 10 hrs in the saddle in a single day several times.

BTW - TUCCI, that's a great pic!

Merry Christmas everyone.

which is exactly what makes them a great long distance seat. most of the posts that i've seen from people complaining about them being too hard is from people who don't ride long distance.

however, at the end of the day, seats are like handlebars, windshields, exhaust, etc. you've got to find the one that you like and fits you. everybody else's experience may or may not reflect yours.

good luck. finding the right solo seat can be a pain in the ***. literally
