Question Need The Facts on Cats - '09 Headers

Ok the short of the long:

Local respected HD dealer Service Manager who I do like and respect - nice guy down to earth, no ego, very real, and easy going got into a discussion this weekend regarding some performance mods to my soon to be in my possession FLHP, asked me if I will use the same brand of cat less headers on my FLHP that I have on my FLHTCU, I said of course not cause the '09's did not have cats in them, and then he tells me that ALL touring models since 2009 have cats in them.

Yes, I debated him a tad, because based on this forum and some others and other members saying that '09's do not have cats, and 2010's up do. He said no, they all have the cats in the crossover section of the headers.

I shared this bit of shocking info on the Retired Police Bike forum as well, and of course several members there were shocked and in denial as I am... One called a Canadian Dealer and that dealer confirmed that '09's do have cats even though the sensors are in diff places....

SOOOOOO - someone help - need to find some actual factual info on this little issue. Is it true, is it true?!

In 2009 if I am not mistaken only the CA bikes had the cats in them.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

The only 09 FLH models that have catalysts are California and HDI export models. This is listed right in the owners manual.

Jaime,
Ah I knew you would know - I have my manual, where is that (got page?) so I can point that out to the HD SM here?

Even IF all '09s had cats, they would be completely ineffective if they were located in the crossover section of the header.

Just take a broom and stick it up the pipe...measure how far is past the crossover and do it in front of him. It'll go all the way to the bend past the crossover.

Normal non-cali 09 do NOT have a cat in the headpipe. The crossover looks identical to the 10-up which have the cat right there.

I hope you are right!! I have feeling if we go to this trouble and we are wrong, I am afraid where they might put that broomstick next!

My 08 had cats in the slip on mufflers. I know as I have seen them

That is a European export model
