Page 8 says cat in center section so the headpipe won't have one. If you look on the emission label on the downtube it will say if it has a cat or not

Thanks Hal64HD,
Based on this document - the HD Service guy is right... they all had Cats...

Ok - maybe this is the issue...

The headers DON'T have the Cats, is that crossover thingy NOT part of the headers? - so could it be just a difference of semantics?

The crossover is the CAT and it's 1-piece up until the mufflers.

Hmmmm... not my experience. I'm with the 'some do, some don't' camp.

Looking at the page posted, I read the exhaust section to mean that those with cats will have it where stated...
...and I know I do not have an 'active' exhaust....

But what do I know... my dad taught me not to believe anything I hear and only half of what I see.....

Yes I have had my exhaust appart when I did my cam change. There was no cat. I replaced the header with fuelmotos header so my stock '09 header is sitting in the garage, catless.....

I'm inclined to agree that the '09's don't have cats in the headpipes. The attached part (2-1-2 headpipe) from the HD pipe is a conversion for 2-1 headpipes. It clearly has the cats and says it fits '10 and later models. I think if the '09's had cats in the headpipes, it would state that this kit would work on an '09.

Sorry VineRider, that is Not necessarily true - they changed where the CO or O sensor probes go on the '10 exhausts and later...that is why this won't fit/work on the '09's, would be my guess.
