Saddlebag Lid Spoiler - Run Brake Turn?
#2
saddlebag lid spoiler
I have a brand new set of these I bought for my 2009 ultra .I sold the bike before I put them on.They are brand new in the box .I opened the box to see the kit. They are red hot sunglo in color. Cost $200.00 new sell for $140.00 + shipping. I am not sure if they can be used as turn signals but I imagine they could be wired to work as signals. Thanks Greg

If you install the HD run/brake/turn signal module that adds the run and brake funtions to your rear turn signals, you can wire the saddlebag spoiler LED's to the module to provide run/brake/turn signal to the spoiler LED's.
Instead of wiring the spoiler LED's to the accessory connector under the seat per the instructions, you wire a ground wire from each spoiler LED a ground wire at the module, and one of the other two wires from each spoiler LED to the corresponding brown or green wire (for right and left turn signal functions). If you use my username and saddlebag spoiler LED in the advanced search function, you'll find more detailed information.
I wired mine as described and they worked for 3+ years. Ultimately, I concluded the spoiler LED's were a poor light and not a cosmetic improvement, and sold the saddlebags to replace them with bags w/o the spoilers, and use a BrightAss Light tail light--BAL-1R--a much better rear lighting solution IMO.
Good luck with your project.

Glad to help. Personally, if I had a '09 or newer bike I'd spend the $$$ and add the fascia and lights HD uses on the CVO SG; expensive, but very cool and functional. Otherwise, you're basically looking at a RK or SG bullet turn signal bar, or installing some aftermarket lights in the saddlebags and I've never seen any that were cosmetically acceptable IMO.
Hope you find a solution and keep us posted.
